"Minor girl found unconcious in garbage dump, rape suspected"

"Rape accused escapes police custody in jammu"

"9-months old infant raped, murdered"

Didn't the above three lines hurt you? Didn't reading them made your heart heavy?

Aren't you feeling a strong pain in your throat? Aren't your eyes moist?

Then let me tell you, that, these are just three lines that have been taken from the many uncountable headlines in the newspapers... and also to all of our fears, there are a lot many such henious cases that have been dumped deep inside the ground and might never be known to the world.

"Around the world, rape and sexual abuse are everyday violent occurrences affecting close to a billion women and girls over their lifetimes. However, despite the pervasiveness of these crimes, laws are insufficient, inconsistent, not systematically enforced and sometimes promote violence."

Every single morning getting to read about a rape incident that will be perfectly printed in one little corner of the entire sheet of the newspaper has now become a common thing. We read it, mourn over it until we are done with our morning tea and then again we get back to our daily chores.

But have you ever imagined the pain and trauma the girl had gone through when her cries and prayers all went unheard, and her body was exploited?

"What else are we supposed to do?"

I suppose this is the very question that you are having in your mind right now?

Then let me tell you, that there are a lot that we can do to STOP this.

RAPE is the extreme thing that takes place just because of our fear of not protesting against the every day sexual harrassment that we all females go through, either inside the public buses or the auto-rickshaws or when we are travellling on the train or even when we are simply walking on the streets.

Whom are you scared of ? Why do you fear to protest for youself? Is he scared or hesitant to touch your private parts without your consent? Have you ever seen even a slight bit of fear in a molester's eyes?

NO. You haven't.

So if they can so fearlessly do wrong with you, how can you not stand up for yourself? In this way you are not saving your self but actually you are digging your own grave by proving to him that we women are weak and that he can do anything with our bodies and also you are becoming a part of this henious crime by tolerating it.

Instead, stand up strong with a rage in your heart, with fire in your eyes, muster up all the strength that you have in your body and teach the devil a lesson, a lesson that he will carry till his grave. Show him who we actually are.

Because remember - " A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water"-- Eleanor Roosevelt.
