Hey beautiful people! Hope you're doing good. In this blog I'm gonna share some self-help strategies to help brave souls out there cope up with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Borderline Personality Disorder, abbreviated as BPD is a mental disorder marked by instability in mood, emotions and behaviour. And still many people feel awkward, embarased or hesitant when it comes to accepting and being open about their condition.

Well you know what? I strongly believe that the more we share what's inside our head, lesser our problem becomes and that's exactly what I'm doing now. I've been through this struggle myself and I'm gonna share the things which I follow to lead a happy life despite BPD.

1) People do love you, it's all in your head:

The main problems faced by a person with BPD is the assumption that nobody loves them and the fear of abandonment. This makes them distance themselves from people, including those who really love and care about them. So one with BPD must understand that it's just their mind playing tricks on them and be accepting and approachable to their loved ones, friends and family.

2) Don't let possessiveness get the best of you:

Fear of abandonment makes one with BPD cling on to the people who he/she considers to be potential abandoners (such as friends, spouse, significant other or family members). This pushes them too far and leaves them irritated. So one with BPD must understand that people who truly love him/her won't dump them and give them their own personal space as all of us have our own lives and must not be over possessive.

3) Never miss your meds:

Pills and drugs prescribed by your pyschiatrist must be taken regularly without missing or quitting in between. People do end up with serious problems sometimes because of discontinuing BPD medication halfway. So better safe than sorry.

4) Shoo away the side effects of medication:

It's quite common that not only BPD meds, but any other med for psychological problems in general cause side effects like weight gain, moodiness, lethargy etc., So in order to get rid of those, one must involve in regular exercise, healthy diet, Yoga, meditation and other good stuff and take good care of their physical and mental health.

5) Lose yourself in hobbies:

Find the skills and hobbies that intrigues you the most. Dedicate your time towards it and whenever you feel down or depressed, start practicing the new skill you're learning or indulge in your favourite hobby or passion... drawing, swimming, dancing, singing, gardening....sky is your limit. My passion is writing and maybe that's why I ended up here, LOL. So go find yours :)

And that's it brave buddies. Hope you enjoyed reading it. Please leave behing your comments. I'd really appreciate your comments and suggestions. See you on another blog . Until then, see you guys :)
