5 Dog Movies That Will Leave Your Heart Melting

Dogs are blessings on earth. They make you laugh, they make you love and they make you feel glad about being alive. These adorable little (or large) creatures are goofy, weird and very very loveable. So it is a no brainer that there are tonnes of movies on them. Here is a list of my top 5 favourite dog movies of all time. Caution! These may make you cry.

1) A Dog’s Purpose

This is a dog film will make you laugh and cry. The film follows the story of a puppy named Toby who is later reincarnated as a Retriever and then adopted by a boy named Ethan. The movie is a roller coaster ride of emotions which all drives to one single point-A dog’s real purpose? To bring happiness to its owner.

2) Marley and Me

This movie is based on John Grogan’s memoirs, and it is one the saddest dog movies. John and his wife Jenny adopt Marley, "a clearance-sale puppy" mostly as a test of their parental instincts. Marley proves to be an extremely unruly dog which repeatedly frustrates the couple’s patience. Though Marley proves to be a complete nuisance to the couple, he eventually becomes the pet that a family wants to have.

3) Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

This dog film is filled with dramatic occurences and a sad conclusion but is one which carries the message of bonding and friendship. Ronnie tells a story about Hachiko, a dog that belonged to his grandfather Professor Park Wilson. The professor finds a lost Akita puppy from Japan whom he names Hachiko. The story that unfolds eventually is one of mixed emotions and is sure to bring a tear or two in the eyes of the audience.

4) Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey is a story of three pets who assume that their owners have abandoned them and they set out to find them. The three set out on a journey of trials and tribulations until they find their family. The film is amusing to watch and in the end teaches us about the values of friendship through three pets.

5) 101 Dalmations

This classic was one of Disney's most successful films. There are possibly very few people who haven't watched this movie. The iconic Cruela De Ville has been reproduced in many spin offs. Her decision to make a fur coat out of puppies' skins proves fatal to her and her impending doom is preceeded bu a series of comic situations.
