From the day I was born I heard about the presence of various gods. Gods are divided according to the caste and religions. But my maturity taught me that there is just one god for all. And that too is not visible to us and lives in a different place, some named it as heaven. So this is the story of one god but there is one another god whom we can see ,we can talk and we can share our feelings when we feel pain , stress ,tired and ill we call him we visit him. Yes you are right we are talking about the doctor.

In India the doctor’s era started with this assumption only. They were treated similar to the gods as they were the one who gives relief, cure and most importantly saves the life of a person which is actually the work of a god. And it’s quite true as well, as the doctors are the one which you recall when someone is dying or when you feel pain apart from god. What will be the better feeling than this that you are positioned with god- the strongest and purest creature of the world?

But are they really happy with this position or all they want is just a life of a normal human being? Yes it’s true that they can treat people, they can save someone’s life but it’s not because they are god but because they understood the process of how an individual work and what all he has inside his body.

And when we start understanding this fact the revolution of doctor’s life begun. Now they become a normal human being for us. Actually even worse than that according to us they don’t even have heart, they treat human as a thing and don’t actually care for themand as now they become human we become judgmental for them they are greedy, selfish for us.

But now as they know everything thus it’s their responsibility to save everyone and that too without giving them pain. I recently heard a case where a patient’s relative has assaulted a junior doctor who was actually trying to resuscitate a patient in shock because they get aggressive as the patient is feeling too much pain in that procedure. Recently also in Bengal, two doctors were attacked at a government hospital because of the death of a patient. According to Indian Medical Association as well nearly 75% of doctors are facing abuse in India either in the form of verbal or physical.

The era has changed to great extent now. From the time when patients used to touch the feet of their doctors to time when they started abusing and assaulting them. Violation against doctors is increasing day by day. And this becomes a great issue. It’s a high time now to concern about it and to take some relevant steps to stop and control it.

Laws, rules & regulations will surely help us in preventing the violence. But these are not enough. Some other ways of human value such as trust and communication also matters a lot. An effective and relevant communication between a doctor and patient might play an efficient role in solving such issues. Lack of communication leads to lack of trust in patients for doctors.

Disease and treatments become advanced now and the chances of failure and errors are also increased in such procedures and treatment and thus now it is difficult for doctors to guaranteed treatment of disease so building trust and rapport with patients is become important for doctors in order to save someone’s life and their own life.
