“Eventually all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.”

Above mentioned adage is a beautiful way of expressing the beauty of a river, which emerges from the highest of peaks, crossed by the world’s greatest flood and then flows over the boulders and finally merge into depth of the seas. Eventually, this quote describes that waterways are everywhere at the same time, in the rain drops, in our mouth, in the water fall, in the lakes, in the nerves, in the camel’s belly, in industries and after all it moves on present without being affected by the shadow of the future or the shadow of the past.

Now, let’s discuss about the varios water streams flowing in India, whose each drop gives hope to every visiting soul. Here, every flowing stream has it’s own story. Every river holds remarkable place in culture of India and centre of social tradition.

Ganga

It is the eventual source of inspiration to sages, saints, visitors. Yes, we are talking about the most holy river in the minds of Indians and not only holy, it is also source of livelihood for millions since time immemorial. But reason to worry is, the Bhagirathi is highly polluted nowadays and its contamination not only threatens human beings but also aquatic animals.

Kosi

Have you heard about it, if not then see, It is believed to be older than Himalayas, it is sometimes called as witch and also‘Bihar Ka Shok’ , but it’s not only her, responsible for destruction. It is also very violent and uncertain. It has changed her route 150kms in last 150 years.

Yamuna

Name of this river is in many sacred Hindu books, Strange fact regarding Yamuna River is that it drains hot water also and temperature of that water is so high that you can make tea from that water. This river is also placed in Conservative ones by government due to increased level of contaminated substances in rivers like Bhagirathi.

Narmada

It is that major river that has its course resembling the direction of sunrise. Interesting story regarding this river is that it's emergence is related to the the sweat of Lord Shankar. According to methodology, Lord Mahadev’s intense concentration created him break into sweat, which rolled and got collected in the tank, when that tank overflowed, it took the form of this watercourse.

Triveni Sangam

Last, but not the least, Triveni Sangam, that auspicious place which marks the concurrence of Bhagirathi, Saraswati and Jamuna. It is in Prayagraj, where Kumbh Mela (the largest mass Hindu pilgrimage) takes place every twelve years.

This place is perfect to visit to seize the natural beauty of Payagraj.
