In today’s world, everyone is up for a vicious quest of perfection. Every person wants to be perfect andflawless.
What is perfect in your terms? Do you think you are perfect? Or are you perfectly imperfect?
Taking an instance,
Just visualize a college where every student is very confident, clear at their mind. Here, every student has a professional accent of speaking and is primly dressed. This scenario looks “too perfect”, isn’t it? It is completely surreal.
Actually a college is a place which harbors a young mind, who has an opinion (though not very rigid!), who wants to explore the world. A college student may be identified as a person, who is a little shabby, adorning the comfiest clothes, who wants to grow up through his experiences. A little unorganized, a little shabby, an enthusiast but still a little confused (or much more than you expect! ) – This is what describes a regular youngadult of college.
The latter description seems to be unarguably more interesting.
One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn't exist.....Without imperfection, neither you nor I would exist. -Stephan Hawkings
Perfect things are said to be ideal. But do you really think that Ideal things exist? Even the most elaborately explained ideal gas does not exist.( now that was hard on chemistry people:P) Ideal things do not generally exist in nature.
Perfect things are predictable and limited. If you say you are perfect, means that you have bound yourself to a constant, well defined and fool-proof frame.
There is an inexplicable fun in honing your skills to improve your performance in a task , not for the sake of being the best, not even for getting better than others, but for becoming a person better than what you were yesterday.
Perfection is never absolute. It is always relative. They are subject to one’s own experiences. Perfection is so wobbly in nature that a person finds it extremely difficult to assemble one's life according to it.
Imperfection is the reality of life.Being imperfect has the essence of originality. Original things are alwaysbeautiful, unique and true to their sense.
In traditional Japanese aesthetics, there is a well known view, called Wabi-Sabi which focuses on admiring the beauty of imperfection
Imperfection is the beauty of life. Just imagine a world where everything is precisely of a well defined geometrical shape. A mere imagination of such a world, makes me drown into the sea of boredom !
Don’t limit yourself by building a misleading image of perfection. Because Once you achieve that level of perfection, your development will eventually get stagnated and you may certainly feel stuck.
Life isn’t meant to be lived perfectly…but merely to be LIVED. Boldly, wildly, beautifully, uncertainly, imperfectly, magically LIVED. -Mandy Hale, The Single Woman
A learner is always better than a perfectionist. Perfectionist is always in a pursuit of a vague idea( what seems to be perfect to him). Running behind a befogging thought will surely bring disappointment later in life. But when it comes to a learner, its his incessant efforts that makes him a better person and this is the reason of his happiness.
Accepting oneself with all the “imperfections” is the “perfect” thing one can do. This is the beauty of imperfection that makes us different from others. Perfect is monotonous but imperfect is unique and unique always stands out of the crowd.
Summing up with the most trusted proof-
99.9% of the DNA in every individual is same. Its just the 0.1% that creates such a wide range of variations. As you see, even the divine creator has himself left you with such flaws(differences). So , don’t worry ! its perfectly okay to be imperfect.
There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty. -Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically you: Reflections on life and the human experience.
