"Why is my little champ sitting outside the foyer? " asked his fatigued dad.

"Mom hit me" he replied meekly .

"And why did she do so? "

"I was trying to build a sand castle" the poor chap replied.

"A Castle" his father mumbled to himself before eyeing couple of empty buckets and vestige of water in the mud.

"Come inside now. "said the father, a sad smile forming across his lips as both marched in the foyer.

"Did you get any help? "his wife asked hopefully, observing the sleeping child from the distance.

"Commercial banks will not help us. We owe them a lot of money already and local tycoons are not interested to invest in agriculture." he replied in a shattered voice. "I hope we get extra farmers atleast to plough the field."

"Don't lose your hope the situation is still doable we will definitely swim across this filth "she said wiping her tears away .

"What was the need to hit him?"he asked switching the topic.

"It was drinking water and he used two whole buckets "she said with disappointment.

"But still?"

"I dint intend to do "she said shedding fresh pool of tears .

"Then?"he asked with a puzzling look in his face.

"You know he eats a meger amount of food when he cries. "

"So?"

"So we can feed him for extra two days" she said feeling shameful for her own activities, not having a different option to choose.

"We will be fine soon. "he said to himself not knowing who he was trying to console.

The above is just a mere fictional script written with the motive symbolizing the present day farmers life. But the daily struggles of the farmers is far more worse,a haunting truth that India needs to wake up to.

Over 26,000 farmers in Tamil Nadu have coerced to give up their lives due to unending loans and droughts in the past decade and over 1,30,000 in India.

Tamil nadu faces water crises starting from Villupuram to Thirunelveli with pretty much sums up the story.

With many new schemes and manipulated political agendas filling the plate no one seems to be in a mood to find permanent solutions.

Well as the highly inflicted drama on a separate agricultural budget continues. The leaders of the state and centre are finally plunging to the river linking project that was initiated years ago.

If the government succeeds in linking of Thamarabarani and Nambiyar rivers, over 6,000 hectares of land will be saved and Tutricon and Thirunelveli will be be free from drought.

The linking of the most controversial Godavari and Cavery river will be one of the most successful achievements of the central government though the conditions continue to seem undoable.

The latter will put an end to the water crises in many district in Tamil nadu and the most benefited would be Chennai.

Let's hope that the central and the state MPs work in a harmonious manner keeping aside their political differences and will stop being callous to the innocent victims.
