There's no difference in exercise selection for general muscle gain or fat loss!! It should all be the same; the only difference you really make in training is the amount of training volume you're doing. The amount of sets and reps needed for muscle gain is more than for the fat loss. Because you need the stress to be forced on the muscle to push the tissue to grow. If you're in a deficit, however, you're training to preserve as much muscle as possible and maybe improve some muscle. Knowing that we can talk about the real difference in fitness for muscle gain or fat loss. As you probably already know, it's not so much about training. It's way more about nutrition. It’s about how much you're eating, how much protein you're eating. Maybe how many carbs and fats you're eating if you're up to tracking that. That's the actual difference. You see, for most people who are trying to lose fat, what you do in the gym don't matter as much as you think. Yes, get a good training program specified towards your goals and needs but don't stress about the small stuff. You probably don't even have your calories and proteins completely dialed in so, please don't worry too much about EXERCISE SELECTION. This is like 2% of what matters. If not less.

👊First, focus on the big rocks, get those dialed in and if you have those dialed in. we can take a look at exercise selection
Here's what you want to be doing to lose fat:
👉 Dial in your nutrition. Be in a caloric deficit and eat adequate protein, eat mostly whole foods and all that good stuff.
👉 Strength train 2-5x a week.
👉 Sleep well, and make sure your stress levels aren't through the roof.
👉Now if we nailed all of these things, we can look at how much cardio you should do.
The thing about weight loss is most people want to know what's "best" and what's "worst." What's "healthy" and "unhealthy." "Right" and "wrong."Maybe we're talking about carbs. Good or bad? Healthy or unhealthy? Should we eat them or toss those insulin goblins out with the Mandrake juice? Or maybe we're talking about sugar. Good or bad? Toxic or safe? Does fruit make you fat? Perhaps it blows you up like Marge Dursley after getting under HP's skin? Or maybe we're talking about eggs. Good or bad? Safe or dangerous? Healthy or unhealthy? The 'What the Health' documentary said eggs are worse than a pack of cigarettes, so it must be true...yea?
Wrong.
Too much or too little of anything - water, included - is terrible for you. And that's why there is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" food. Because "health" isn't defined by a single thing you do or eat, health is your lifestyle as a whole. Your diet and workouts and family life and work life and friends and hobbies and sleep and whether or not you're "in" with Nicholas Flamel and he's willing to spare some elixir. Health is far more than what you eat in a single meal. Because remember...no one ever got skinny from eating a salad, just like no one ever got fat from eating one donut. Health and fat loss and overall fitness success are about being moderate - not rigid - in your approach and finding what works best for you. Because I'll tell you what...life is entirely too short to be worrying about overeating fruit. Or having an omelet. Or eating a slice of pizza at Joe's annual weenie roast. Because the truth is if someone tries to shame you or make you feel bad in saying "healthy" means you can't ever have a treat...they have no idea what the Bloody Baron they're talking about.
