Yes, this is that article.
One that you know you should read but you don’t want to because you’re thinking, “how can an article, that doesn’t know my first name know me, better than myself?”
But you’re reading this, because you are smart.
You know you need guidance, and that’s what this is about.
The great thing about you is that, you are aware that you need to live a life that’s right by you. You heart and mind should be in synergy and not conflict, you understand this too, yet that’s not happening right?
Let me ask you a question. Is the reason why you can’t do the above-mentioned things because you fear judgement, not of yourself but others? People close to you? Your parents? Perhaps your friends?
Yeah? Then read on.
See, don’t be afraid of what other people think of you. It’s easy to read, tough to understand. In essence, it means don’t fear judgement. Because, do they know any better? Do they know you, better than you know, yourself?
Life will continue, regardless of what others think of you. There will always be someone who doesn’t like you or doesn’t agree with you.
If you change because of one person’s opinion, there will be someone else who won’t like the new you. Chances are there are few people who really understand you.
Live what you know is the right life for you.
That means, giving yourself permission to live a life that makes you feel contented, that doesn’t make your dread monday mornings and most importantly, a life that makes you fall in love with the process than the result.
You don’t want everything they want. Explain, if you think it will help them, but justifying means you need their approval.
If you know what’s right for you, you are ahead of most people. Most people don’t know what’s right for themselves. They imitate others, and they will try to get you to imitate as well.
So be aware of that. Understanding when people are trying to help you get to know the real you versus when people are trying to get you to imitate. It’s a thin line.
It’s about you, when their help makes you really feel in sync with yourself. It’s imitation when your everything feels out of sync.
It’s not about what the crowd thinks. It’s what you think, that should matter. Crowds have been wrong many times. Especially uninformed or misinformed ones. There does not need to be a consensus in order for something to be correct.
You really have to know yourself and that takes time. It takes failure, long nights and acceptance of who you are. That will give your own philosophy that you live by and hope to resist any influence that doesn’t let you be, you.
Everyday you will encounter people in the flesh or in the media who will try to influence you. If you don’t have your own inner guidance, you will be misled.
You don’t have to want what others suggest that you should want. Chances are they are speaking from their own lack of fulfillment and appreciation.
When you know what you want, you do what’s right by you. You do what’s needed.
