Meet The Ambiverts..!!

Let me ask you a basic question. What does an introvert and extrovert mean? These days people think that introvert is someone who is socially inactive or someone who loves to be all by himself/herself and extrovert is someone who has huge number of friends and has a very active social life. What if there is a person who like to have both. That person might have many friends but loves to be alone sometimes or someone who talks to less number of people but has an active social life. Well that person is called ambivert or 'selectively social' people. Just like an extrovert an ambivert loves to party hard and have thousands of intagram followers and facebook friends and is very active in extracurricular activities but that same person sometimes likes to sit alone in balcony reading a novel , drinking a cup of hot tea and be lazy all day like an introvert.

The ambiverts gets the advantages of both introverts and extroverts. Lets consider a scenario, you are salesperson. You have to sell a set of wine glasses to a rich middle aged man but that man is judgemental and its hard to convince him. If you are an extrovert you use you socializing traits as to convince him why to buy these glasses but if you are an introvert you might not find right words as to why he should buy these glasses. Here the extrovert wins . But what if that man starts abusing you for something he doesn't like. An extrovert might loose his temper and start fighting with him while an introvert would listen to him and try to keep his calm. Now in that same job extrovert looses and an introvert wins. But for an ambivert since he gains both the advantages of an extrovert and introvert he would know how to convince that man to buy those glasses and would also keep his calm when needed. So its a win-win situation for him. To back my context , research has shown that ambiverts are better at a job than introverts or extroverts. These days companies has more number of ambiverts than the combined extroverts and introverts.

An ambivert person is very selective of what he wants to do. If he wants to party or if he wants some me time. A survery showed that ambivert people have a better work - life balance . These are the kind of people who are prone less to stress and depression. These people might party with you friday night but wants to have a hot water bath with some slow music the next day. These people might have many friends but they only let a few people to be close to them. People think extroverts have the most amazing life while introverts are more focussed people but the ambiverts enjoys the perks of both.
