With the Lok Sabha polls raging, this Summer was bound to get hotter! With the temperature scale soaring above the 40-degree mark, it is important to keep things cool! So, what to do that will save you from the heat, but will also not burn a hole in your pocket? Here are three easy recipes that you can make at home, carry with you to your workplace, or refresh yourself with after a hard day's work:-

Nimbu Paani:- The old but gold recipe from our traditional kitchen, the Indian version of lemonade beats the heat like anything! Take a glass, squeeze all the juices from half a lemon into it, add half a teaspoon salt, two teaspoons of sugar, and mix. This is important as the mix will be diluted with water soon, and you do not want the extracts to mingle around the end of your glass! Add three to four ice cubes, and pour around 200 ml of water. Garnish with a piece of lime, and some lime zest (optional). You can also skip on the sugar if you are dieting, then add rock salt instead of normal salt to enhance the taste.

Doodh ka Sharbat:- This classic drink that has been linked to Ramadan, not only cools you down but is nutritious as well. So to prepare this, you need about 200 ml of milk, two tablespoons of sugar, a tablespoon of rooh afza or any other rose syrup, and 20 to 25 grams of dry fruits (optional). To start, heat up the milk and add the sugar so that the mix is uniform. Cool the mixture down, and add about 50 ml of cold water to dilute the mixture, add the rooh afza and stir well. Garnish with the dry fruits and it is ready to serve. This is a drink that can be consumed anywhere around the clock.

Coconut Sharbat:- How can we forget the natural energy drink, that is coconut water? Commonly known as Daab er Sharbat in Eastern India, it is quite easy a recipe as well. For this, you will need around 150 ml of coconut water, 25 grams of coconut malai, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 5 to 6 ice cubes.First of all get the coconut water, malai, sugar and the ice cubes into a blender and blitz for 10 to 15 seconds. Then pour it into a glass and garnish with an ice cube and a bit of the malai. Now cherish the drink!
