The scars still fresh, the pain still squeezing her heart, her soul still firghtened to face this passive world, the world with not a single human to protect her but with thousands of them to cheat,to curse,to criticise.
What was her fault?Being a girl? Or trusting her country people? Or to be brave and dedicated enough to do a night shift??
People talked about her character, the way she dressed, her friends, her lifestyle and what not??
But now no one utters a word, not a single word slips out of their mouths to criticise the ugly men who raped her! And ofcourse, the only reason that this indian society holds up for a rape is HER DRESS! What about a toodler,a 5 year old infant? What about jisha? What about that delhi case??What about every acid attack victim? What was her fault?Being attractive?Having her own opinions? Her own standards? Or being bold enough to say NO?
Why cant a girl travel alone? Why cant she be independent? Why cant she stand out?Why is she the one to suffer every single time? Why is she blamed for every wrong act of an irresponsible man?
Because in this 21st century also where all that we talk about is "women empowerment, equality and justice",a woman is treated no more than a sex toy! Something to play with, something to be used! A woman is still not paid the respect that she deserves, the respect that she was born to live with! When will this society let a woman have her own opinions?
Thousands of questions, thousands of why's and what's left unanswered!Thousands of cases piled up! Thousands of scars hidden beneath! Thousands of tears cried! Thousands of broken pieces to come together!!
Still ,she sits numb and broken in a corner with hope in her eyes that one day justice would be served! A day wiil arrive when being a girl won't give you scars,When the streets would be safe enough to walk across, when the society would feel no shame to stand up for the victim, when men would be courteous enough to respect women, when a girl won't be judged for her clothes but would be respected and loved for her innocence,When these eyes would be filled with happiness and not with fear!
That day shall arrive soon!
