If you don’t decide for yourself, others will shape your life. If you don’t act on life, life has a habit of acting on you. The days slip into weeks, weeks into months and months into years. Pretty soon it’s all over and you’re left with nothing more than a heart filled with regret over a life half lived. Make yourself persist through the tough times. A meaningful life is made up of a series of daily acts of decency and kindness which add up to something truly great over the course of a lifetime.

Life becomes baffling and overwhelming if you have not mastered the art of decision making. Along with accomplishing your goals, you must learn to carve your own path. With the right of choice comes the responsibility to choose. This is where courage is required to distinguish right from wrong. Right thing to do is not necessarily easy. You will be tempted to decide on the basis of majority thinks. However, you must learn too separate yourself from herd mentality and introspect what you want. Herd mentality will give you temporary satisfaction, but experience will leave you in regret, since you weren’t true to yourself. So, the ability to say no to certain things will require Herculean courage but you will refine your character and become a more content individual. You need to get serious about setting your goals and making choices. There are too many distractions that compete for your attention. Setting clearly defined goals provide you with a framework for smarter choices.

Needless to say, you must have faith in your decisions. You only are going to face the consequences of whatever you decide to choose. You have the choice to follow the herd mentality but no right to blame the people for your failure. So be confident about your decisions. It’s the only way to live a fulfilling life. Our choices have far reaching consequences. You also have to think whether you will be able to accept the consequences of your choices.

Be more than your moods, for we are the creators of the thoughts that flow through our minds and we can change our thoughts if we choose to do so. Train your mind to focus only on positive, inspiring and enlightening thoughts and see the outer circumstances of your life change. And just like your thoughts, you are the creator of your moods you experience. If you learn how to train your mind to make right choices, you can feel peace in a moment of stress, joy in a time of sadness and energy during a time of fatigue.

Think before you act.
