Adulthood is quite a complex phase of a person’s life there is a lot going on both on the academic and social life. The pace of life becomes fast and it seems as if we are riding a roller coaster. As a kid, I wanted to
grow up fast. But now, all I want to do is revisit my childhood, play those silly games, listen to bedtime stories from my parents and grandparents. Life was very easy to back then.
I personally experience the full impact of being an adult once I finished my schooling and began my higher studies. Coming out of a protected environment of the school to be thrown head-on into a completely new surrounding was a very overwhelming experience. On interacting with a completely new set of people, I realise that humans have a complex character. Initially, they came out as sane but turns out they aren't. Looks are deceiving and people turn out to be completely different from what they appear.
On the academic front, the pressure to perform well in the exam is overbearing. Scoring a decent percentile is not a piece of cake. Moreover one hast run from pillar to post in search of a good internship programme. Living up to your parent's expectations is also a point to ponder. You might be thinking that the pressure is reduced once you have completed your education. Well, my friends, the pressure is still on. One thing leads to another and soon the pressure of finding a job is looming large over your head. The job you land should not only be in a good company but also pay you well.
Then comes the societal pressure of getting married and starting a family at the right age.
I've rambled a lot about the difficulties in the adulthood phase of life. But these difficulties help you to become mature, responsible and sensible.
From managing expenses to paying your bills might be a little daunting in the beginning but you get used to it eventually.
While doing all this maintaining good Health should be your topmost priority. Taking care of yourself physically and mentally is important.
Having the independence to explore your options is the best feeling ever.
Change is constant throughout this phase of life. It's okay to fear the changes around you. But you get a nack to adjust to them.
I, on the other hand, have a long way to go. That doesn't mean I will give up. I will try my best.
In the end, I would like to say that let's embrace adulthood rather than fearing it.
