We have been told ever since we first developed our aims and aspirations that we must be "out of box"; that we should have our own creative opinion. But, what happens when we really try to be out of box? Criticism. Fear of failing. Bullying. How can we get over it? How can we know if we're out of box or out of place? If these are the stressors making your life messy, we'll make it through together by the end of this article.

What is Thinking Out of Box?

Before everything, we must understand what thinking out of box really means. Now we have a misconception that if someone is unable to understand us, then our idea is particularly out of box and beyond understanding of a particular bunch of brains. Out of box is not something beyond understanding, it is something creative; something an average person with a robotic routine would not usually think. Creativity accepts the everyday beliefs and forms a new belief relative to the already learnt one. Now, yes, out of box thinking may contradict the societal norms and values but, it can be understood. It's about everything weird and not-so-weird that influences our mind. It involves being different, not uninvolved. There's a chance that your thoughts might miss out on a few things if you stop being involved. Withdrawal isn't healthy. Be involved and active and be brave to voice your creative, or I must say, "out of box" opinion.

What Happens When We're Out Of Box?

Now, yes, there are going to be people who would look down upon you and there are going to be people who would appreciate you. When you go out of box and accept and access that creativity within your soul, be sure to be open to criticism. Understand why people appreciate you and why they contradict you. Creating a wonderful art starts with understanding the craft. If you want your opinion to be considered, then consider someone else's opinion. The problem here lies in knowing which contradiction is to be taken seriously. Here's a simple thumb rule - the people who advice you about what particularly is wrong in your "out of box idea" are healthy critics than the ones who are negative about you and your work as a whole. In order to make someone consider your opinion, you must consider their opinion as well. Go hand in hand with the people who give you honest feedbacks. Be ready to know what's wrong with what you're doing and improve it. It is rather important to understand each and every feedback that you receive. You cannot be ignorant by calling every contradictory opinion a "hate comment". You are a human being who makes mistakes and that is perfectly normal.

The next thing that would come your way is the fear of failure. Greet it and let it be there. If this fear paralyzes your working ability, then take a break. It is just as important to sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee or read your favourite book. Let this fear take you to the next adventure. Fear it but, do it anyway. Last but, not the least, choose to be happy. Your mental state highly effects your performance, so, let that brain listen to you and then command you. We really control the way we think. Do whatever makes you happy and be scared, yet, take a chance.

Out Of Box or Out Of Place?

We have finally arrived to our destination. Congratulations on making this far but, remember that you have not come this far to come this far. It can be confusing to understand if we are out of box or out of place. The key is introspection. Know yourself. Understand and word the rationality behind what you're doing. As I said before, your out of box ideas may contradict the societal norms and values, so you must be ready to be questioned. Get yourself in trouble but, know the reason for it. "I love doing it", is certainly a beautiful and self-explanatory answer but, imagine someone asking, say, Raja Ram Mohan Roy why he wanted to abolish Sati and him replying with, "Because I love it". Understand yourself before understanding your creative idea. Do not do something just for the sake of sounding out of box because that is exactly what will make you seem out of place and your doings will not be just as fruitful. Our motive is to make others understand our creativity and if we are unable to explain it, we can never stand out. Believe in what you're doing and how you will tell others about it because they are the people who are going to stick to you. Singers, authors, influencers, take anyone, become who they are because of the way they portray themselves in front of the masses who lift them up. Understand the importance of people being able to understand you. Become out of box, not out of place.
