Understanding...?

They say, “we understand ….”.

Do they?

Do you?

Technically word “understanding” means - the ability to understand something OR comprehend.

I think we have misunderstood its usage.

Let’s take an example to keep my point :

When a boss asks employees - “do you understand a particular project or task?”

Employees will definitely say - “ yes I do”.

In the above scenario, your profession allows you to fund your expenses and your boss is the one who approves your monthly salary.

So here “ yes I do” is a demand in the situation(Do OR Die situation).

Let’s take our second example :

A girl: I feel angry for certain reasons which I can’t share.

A Boy: No worries, take your time. I understand this situation.

Is this level of understanding enough?
