How to i teach my 4 yearoldlife lessons??..how do i prepare her for the big fat world???.. all my gyan will be tossed by her... she is too young...yet i know i need to begin now...

Suddenly i found the answer in one of the most unacceptable places..The indian invention- "Snakes and ladder game"... i played it n no of times... but now my purpose was different

As i was playing with her ...i told her about the diceand its number system.. and if sometimes you are lucky u get a No 6...youwould win another chance for urself..bonus !

Then i thought her about ladder.. how it can give her an advance over her opponent and help her lead ... i also told her that she cannot be lucky all the time...and that it was ok...if she missed an opportunity that would take her forward...better luck next time..

As she learnt these i came to the most difficult task.introducing her to THE snake...ifSHE has an encounter with a snake..then..the snake has the power to pull her back...to undo all her efforts... and for a second it would loookas if she haslost the game to opponent...through the snake i need to teach her that even 98 in the game of 100 doesn't guarantee u win...and that even 99 is not a safe number

but that doesn't mean she has to give it up and stop playing...

the dice must go on...

and as one plays the game more and more ... one understands that the results are soo veryunpredictable...u might win some ..u might lose..u might lead the gameand suddenly lack behind..butu never miss ur turn...u do ur bit..

and then the Ultimate reality...all the while when we were busy trying to win the game..doin what ever it takes to come first... the real fun lied in 'just playing' . The moments shared and memories made...

The game was about the game.. Kudos to Snakes and ladders...AND CHEERS TO INDIANS for introducing and playing it
