Okay, have you sinned? Don't worry; you don't have to answer that. After all its not entirely up to you to decide, is it? Let's recall. The original sin as we call it was the act of eating a particular fruit. As we know, this fruit was from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eating the fruit imparted Adam and Eve the knowledge that they were naked and obviously this made them embarrassed. Without much ado, as any man or woman would do, they clothed themselves. Despite the strict order from God, Eve decided to eat the exotic looking(so I choose to believe) fruit. The consumption of this forbidden fruit is thought to have led to the fall of mankind. Had this fruit not been eaten, would man still remain as envisioned by God? It would just have been a matter of time. Sooner or later if not Adam and Eve, somebody else would have eaten it. Maybe not their offspring or their offspring's offspring, but it was definitely inevitable. It could have been me or even you for that matter. That was and always will be human nature. Rebellion flows through human veins, and believe it or not it often leads to change be it good or bad. When we confront something that is against our conviction, we rebel. But it need not be true that our beliefs are always right. We desire what we don't have rather than celebrating what we do. Was Eden devoid of mouth smacking luscious fruits? The garden of Eden had everything in it. The greenery, the flora, the fauna, all in its extreme grandeur and yet Eve could not take her mind off the one thing that was forbidden.
Yes, the luxuriance that God gifted was all in vain. The trend never really changed. It all goes on to date, don't you think?
" Our neighbour's cow always gives sweeter milk. We want that cow and will not rest until it takes its place in our stable. Not that our cow is any different from thheirs but they just seem so happy with theirs. Why can't we be happy? Oh, we just need the neighbour's cow!"
Well, I think, I needn't say anything more here. But what did Adam and Eve say when questioned by God? Adam blames Eve (and God who made her). She, in turn, blames the serpent.
Haha, no wonder eh?!
