Finally, good news for food lovers!

A shocking announcement has recently been made to the food industry by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI): "100% fruit juice" promises will no longer be made on labels or advertisements. Reconstituted juices with water, fruit concentrates, and a ton of added sugar are what many of these purportedly "100% fruit juices" really are. When water is the primary ingredient and fruit juice makes up a very little portion of the mixture, the FSSAI asserts that these statements are completely false.

In order to avoid any confusion about their product, food enterprises are instructed by the FSSAI to promptly remove any references to "100% fruit juice" from their packaging and marketing. Additionally, they've given businesses until September 1, 2024, to finish using their current pre-printed products.

Rather than being referred to as "reconstituted juice," these juices will need to include an ingredient list label stating that they are "sweetened juice" if they have more than 15 grams of added sugar per kilogram. The days of deceiving customers with exaggerated claims about fruit juice appear to be behind us. To ensure honest and clear food labels, the FSSAI is stepping up its enforcement. By setting food safety regulations all over India, they are committed to preserving public health.

So please stop trying to blind us with your "100% fruit" lies. It is past time for food corporations to disclose the true contents of their goods!
