Diabetes is a condition where the blood sugar level is always on rising. The condition is also called as " hypoglycemia", which means high blood sugar level.
Nowadays, type-2 diabetes is common among people in later years of the 40s and above. Many are also suffering from borderline diabetes, which means they are at risk of diabetes.
Diabetes is a lifestyle disease and certain changes in diet and routine can reduce the effect of the disease or help in avoiding it.
But now let's get to know a recipe which a diabetic person can eat without worry. This recipe can also be consumed by anyone. Also, this recipe contains millet (ragi) which is gluten-free and gram flour which has a good amount of protein.
Recipe: Ragi chilla
Ingredients required:
Rice and Bengal gram flour- 1 cup
Ragi flour- 1/2 cup
Curd- 1/2 cup
Water- 1.25 cup
Finely Chopped onion- 1/4 cup
Green chilly- 2 tsp chopped
Capsicum- 1/4 cup small dices
Salt - as per taste
Coriander leaves- 2 tablespoons finely chopped
Method:
Combine all the dry items and mix well or sieve it.
Add curd, onion, green chilly, capsicum and coriander leaves.
Add water and salt and mix till no lump is formed. The matter should be smooth and pancake batter consistency.
Heat the pan with some oil and put a dollop of batter spreading it.
Cover it for some time and turn upside down until fully cooked till inside.
Make fee more and serve it with peanut chutney or curd and pickle.
Accampainant chutney-
Dry roast groundnut and a red chilly.
Remove the skin from groundnut and grind it with some coriander leaves, salt, jaggery and chilly.
Serve it in a bowl as a side dish with ragi chilla.
This recipe contains iron, calcium and magnesium in high quantity which is good for diabetes.
