My mother, she gave me my life,
She brought me into this world,
She gave me my flesh and bones,
And her blood to me,
I was her little one all through her life,
She was my guardian angel,
Just like an umbrella she gave me shade
From sun and rain,
I was far away after my marriage,
That extra concern was there always,
She used to store all the things till I come,
In two days her calls came to me enquiring my health
Even when her health was betraying her,
Till the last day before she went away
She talked to me through the phone,
My sister told me she was smiling
So that I won’t feel her pain,
What I could do for her was nothing,
Other than watch her going away from me,
The dirty disease stole her away from me,
She was gone before I could reach and hold her hands.
