Most often than not, all of us have dreamt of something we badly want from our lives. We always have said to our parents or teachers about something we really want to become in our lives. Some of us wanted to be pilots, some singer and most of us might have wanted to become a teacher as well. The reason that I am using ‘was’ here is because there are only a few of us who are still at the verge of becoming what we really wanted to be back then.
Passion defines our inner willingness to earn or get something which are not imposed on us by the outer environment but are solely wanted by ourselves. Passion is something we really like and want to continue. Most of the successful people who are all over books and success journals, inspire us through their stories of success that they achieved by following their own passion in their lives.
Before we really embark ourselves on to the journey of following our passion, we need to know what our passion really is. Getting influenced and attracted towards performing a task doesn’t necessarily make that work our passion. In today’s era of technology and vas communicative platforms, most of the kids tend to develop a hobby which they might misunderstand to be their passion. We really need to just ask one question to ourselves; ‘’what is the work that makes us happy?’’ Now, there is a greater depth associated with this question, this reason of happiness is not momentary but lifelong.
Following one’s passion is not easy. There is a high amount of risk that is involved in going forward in achieving the goal that we have wanted for ourselves. Some of us decide to back-off and chose a path which is against our will but a safer one. While few of us go forward without thinking of the consequences that they might face if they fail in their respective endeavours. In most cases, the ‘risk takers’ are the ones who find their names in those success story journals.
Today, the level of unemployment has increased at an alarming rate. The number of graduates from colleges are constant each year, but the job creations are always less. Therefore, self-employment has become a saviour. Opportunities to make your passion and talents your profession have increased in recent times with the advent of various talent shows. Today a chef, a singer, an engineer, a sportsperson or even a doctor is not seen differently.
Yes, there is still a high level of reluctance from parents to let their children follow an unconventional path of career, but what really needs to be done is support them and let them explore their own abilities to succeed.
