"I think that we all do heroic things, but hero is not a noun, it's a verb." This statement really makes me think of the defination of a true hero.

Well according to me there is no perfect definition of the word "HERO." There are different kinds of people in the world, each of them have different opinions, different way of thinking and so the word "HERO's" definition also varies.

For me if a boy respects another girl he is a HERO. A person who lends stationery during the examination to another person is a HERO.

Whereas, some people visualize a hero as a person who is handsome or have looks like a spiderman. True HERO posses the qualities that benefits the world.

When we used to be a child and were asked the question that what is a hero, then probably all of us must have answered that it is a superhuman having powers like a superman or spiderman but gradually when we became older we found that these Superhereos don't exist in real life. They just exist in television serials or movies.

Then we found our dad to be the hero. The family pillar of house, when we come across more realistic versions of hero we find that a real hero is the one who is protecting our country from terrerorists, by staying miles away from the family in drastic temperatures just to protect the nation.

So with the passage of time the meaning also got changed gradually.
At the end, I would just like to say that Heroes have their reasons for being called a hero. A hero could be anyone, anyone that is willing to believe that they have good and positive things within. Heroes are people and animals that do good things for others. They don't do it for money, they do it because of humanity and do not seek fame for the sake of it.

We have got examples of real life heroes like Stanislav Petrov; who prevented a worldwide nuclear war. Norman Borlaug led initatives to increase the agricultural production - This came to be known as green revolution. He was also awarded a noble Prize for the same. Another great example we have is of Vasili Arkhipov Soviet submarine officer who averted nuclear war and was honored with a prize.

While talking about the topic hero how can we forget a woman who saved the world unknowingly, Henrietta Lacks, an African-American poor woman with a middle-school education, made one of the greatest medical contributions ever. Hercells, taken from a cervical-cancer biopsy, became the first immortal humancellline. These cells were termed as Hella Cells. Hela cells also led to breakthroughs in the study ofherpes, leukemia, influenza, hemophilia,Parkinson's disease, certain types of genetic diagnoses, cancer , AIDS, cloning, the effects of radiation and toxic substances, and in vitro fertilization
