Media has played a very important part in everyone's lives. Right from the early days to this modern era, media delivers us the news about all the happenings around the world. People are very much dependant on media for various matters. Some just want to know what is happening around the world they live in, some are reading the news to pass their exams and interviews, some to do investments in the stock market, some to see how their business is working and the list goes on and on. Even if one news turns out to be untrue, the world can go upside down. Stock markets may show a downfall, a wrong answer can effect and exam or an interview, the business might go down.
The entire world is riding upon media. You might have guessed the topic by now 😊. Let me include social media in this, I'll be able to give you the exact picture.
In the ancient days, news was given out to people by playing drums and shouting the news. Then some inventions took place and we got the print media into the picture. More news could be delivered within less time. Then the electronic media came into the picture and then the entire world news was covered within less amount of time and got delivered to people. Now that I have explained how the media expanded, I'll come to the point of this article.
Electronic media delivered the right news at the right time without any exaggerations and falsity. People were happy. Everything was going good.
But in the recent times, the exaggerations and falsity have increased to the largest extent possible. Media has been exploited to a far extent in these times. It has become all about the money. Money plays a major role in everyone's lives but when it gets into the wrong side of the book, chaos ensues,just like how the media has gotten exploited and one of the major reason is money.
Coming to the involvement of social media. Social media has gained momentum in the past decade. Starting from 2010, social media has undergone major evolution and many social media portals have come out in the daylight(shall I use the world night light because people are using social media in the major part of the night😉). People have become so obsessed with the social media especially with the world of likes and comments that they have involved even the news into their fun. The news has become a play item for the people. They forward news without confirming whether it is real or fake only to get likes on their pages. Millions of pages are running in the social media portals and half of them only share fake news.
Even technology has a major involvement in this play. Manipulation has turned into technology and people are creating fake news using those tools. Fake videos and fake images relating to false news has become a major part of the apps. Not to write down any names, messaging apps have become major toys in this game. People do not know whether the messages are true or not, before the get to know, the messages spread like wild fire and a buzz of fake news takes place. Sending a news without background check creates as much chaos as a war.
You must be thinking, I started with media persons and ended up blaming the common people. Well media persons are doing their part because it is their job and they work to earn a living. But we have other work to do and spreading fake news doesn't get us money so instead of spreading the news you find interesting, spread the news which has genuinity in them. Fake news have created much chaos in the world. Do not add to it. Even if you cannot go otherwise, do not go for it.
