Are We Using Technology Or Are Being Used By It?

How happy would you rate yourself when you bought a new smartphone or a laptop on a scale from 1 to 10?

For me personally it was around 9-10 cause not only i am heavily interested in the technological advancement taking place in the smartphones and laptops but also a new device always gives a feeling of pride and happiness. But, keeping all this aside once you get used to working on these devices you tend to sometime overuse or in my case misuse it for inadequate amount of time.

Being a college student, the two main activities we involuntarily participate almost all the time are studying and being around friends. Now doing research for your assignment and exam related topics are a great virtue of a hard working student working towards it but, do we always stick to what we have planned? No. So why is that? Because not only the amount of distraction on online platform is in vast volume but also the amount of unsteadiness in our minds.

Now, it is the era of the blooming social media platforms and the huge variety of details that they provide. We as the targetted audience by these applications and companies need to know what we have to invest in and how much time should we put on them. While using social media is in no way a bad thing but the kind of security malfunction and invasion to privacy that can happen on this platform can be inevitable once done.

So what should a child born in the 21^st century take care of while using the ever rapid and innovative internet? It is our duty to realize that social media platforms and games and movies that we indulge in are important and should invest in them in proper amount, at proper time or else the addictiveness of these things will lead to what most addiction lead to that is insufficiency of ones self and unregulated waste of time.
