Student life is one the most exciting, memorable, catchy and unforgettable element of a person’s life. It is a roller-coaster ride of emotions that a person never forgets and will always cherish as one of the best aeon. As a student a person deals with a lot and is befuddled and spontaneous but at the same time you can witness a student being the jauntiest individual ever. These days are the most confusing yet the most amusing days of our lives.

So, what exactly does the term “inbetweener” actually means and why is it so relevant in a student’s life? Well, some of you might be aware of it but I’m pretty sure most of you have no idea at all. I don’t think it’s a vocabulary word; it’s more of slang which came to existence in the year 2008 when one of the finest and beloved British sitcom “The Inbetweeners” telecasted. This sitcom assimilated on the life of four friends and their school life where they are manifested neither as the “geeks” nor as the “cool ones” they are stuck in between hence they were acknowledged as “The Inbetweeners”.

Every school, college or university is divided into different groups; the “geeks” or “nerds”, the “cool ones” or the “popular ones” and the third type which no one really addresses “The inbetweeners” who are neither academically polished nor they are endorsed by the cool group. These types of students are undervalued far and wide; almost every movie, TV shows (except The Inbetweeners of course) or literature that revolves around student’s life or school life eschews such kind.

Being an inbetweener myself I know how arduous it is to catch up with school or college life as you are assorted as a kind with zero importance and to be honest deserved to be appreciated. I was fortuitous enough to find folks of the same kind which kind of made my school days sustainable; it’s hard enough to be divergent and getting deserted on the top of it just makes it catastrophic. There is nothing amiss in being contrasting, in my opinion they are the best type of students/people as they have a familiarity of both the geeky side as well as the cool and popular one.

In other words being “an average” or a mediocre probably, especially as a student or a teenager you might not be able to savour your student life as you might’ve imagined. The only good aspect of being an inbetweener is at least you won’t be stereotyped because no one really gives a damn!
