Chikmagalur- An Experience Close To Heart

Chikmagalur is known for its landscape that portrays love on the lap of nature. The beautiful roads that led to Chikmagalur are curly and breezy with far reaching lofty mountains. The mountains are lush green with wide variety of flora and fauna. The white clouds that covers the peak of the mountain are like those small teddy bears hugging their dolls. We stayed in a boutique hotel in Chikmagalur. Chikmagalur is an excellent hub of coffee plantation. A sip of grounded coffee in the early morning overlooking the mountain is one of the relaxing experience to enjoy in Chikmagalur. Chikmagalur is adorned with some of the most beautiful sites.

Kudremukh in Chikmagalur is one of the highest peak in Western ghat. The mountain is an excellent place for trekking. Reaching the top of Kudremukh by trekking and watching the entire city through the clouds is one of the awestruck experience. Apparently, it is like touching the clouds with your fingers. You can see the white veils of clouds moving just below the peak where you are actually standing and partially covering the city. It was a rainy season when we landed there but an amazing experience. There were clouds all over the peak with mild drizzling... and a cup of tea in that drizzling while the rain is pouring on your hot tea is yet another hell of experience. The peak has some amazing photography points and a small rocky hill at the edge of the peak is one of them. Many people were seen to climb the hill and taking some best shots. The temperature was cold and don't forget to wear sweaters in the rainy season. Kudremukh is one of the best place to hang around in Chikmagalur.

Baba Budan range in Chikmagalur is famous for Baba Budangiri shrine. The ancient shrine is an excellent pilgrimage site for Hindus and Muslims. The site is headed with many stairs and when you reach the shrine, you will smell sandalwood. To your surprise the entire muddy structure of Baba Budangiri is made of sandalwood mud. There is no artificial perfumes or incense sticks inside the shrine. There are three rooms inside the shrine and the aroma of sandalwood is spreaded all over the pilgrimage.

On the way to Kudremukh there is a cafe known as Siri cafe.The attraction of Siri cafe is especially its ambiance. There is a structure of a beautiful lady wearing sariand the lady is covered with trimmed and well maintained small grasses while the flower pots are used to embellish it with jewelry like ear rings and rings. The structure is huge and is an eye catcher when you pass through the curvedroads.Most of the cafe is open and attracts a huge amount of crowd. As the sun peeps through the large number of trees in the cafe, it is a place for nature lovers too. Though the food is average, it is a must place to breath fresh air in the lap of nature.
