MAJOR REVOLUTIONS IN THE WORLD
The fundamental change in organizational structure and power that takes place over a very short period of time. Mostly a revolution is used to refer a political change. Several revolutions have taken place in the history of humans which vary from each other in terms of methods, motivating ideology and duration. The result of these revolutions are the major changes culturally, economically as well as in the socio-political institutions. The most influential revolutions in the world are as follows-
·THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
This revolution brought a period of social , radicaland political change in both European and French history. France was ruled by a monarchy for over a century , collapsed within three years. New ideas were replaced by the age old ones which comprised of tradition and hierarchy. The new ideas included inalienable rights and enlightenment principles of citizenship.
·THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
This revolution brought about a major political change during the last half of the 18th century. During this period thirteen new colonies which belonged to theNorth America joined together to break free from the rule of the Britishers. A series of intellectual, social, political transformations were brought during the American Revolutions.
·THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION
This revolution basically revolvesaround the overthrow of Iran’s monarchy which was under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This revolution was unusual with respect to other revolutions as it created a lot of surprises throughout the world
·YOUNG TURK REVOLUTION
This revolution was started in July 1908. This movement brought together several intellectuals as well as dissidents , most of them were living as officers in the army or in exile. It wanted not only what was left in the empire but also wanted to democratize and modernize the empire.
·THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR
The result of the complex political differences between the supporters of the government and the republicans caused the Spanish Civil War. The war took place between July 1936 and April 1939 in which the republicans suffered a heavy defeat.
