Education is enlightenment. Education is the ray of light we all crave to feel amidst the darkness of ignorance. But, is enlightenment achieved by spending 6 hours at school, & 4 more hours at tuitions, memorizing knowledge to pass exams?

Where everything is evolving, education system in India is pre-defined & non-evolving.
The consequences of the stale nature of Indian Education System can be stated as :

1) It has killed curiosity among students :

Humans are bound to learn till the moment they die. But, our educations sytsem focuses more on accepting established facts. A student who is doubtful or curious to learn is deemed a rebel, disrespectful & disoriented. He's asked to shut his curiosity, his questions & doubts. And, when repeatedly denied the right to know, to question, a student ultimately gives up on the spark of creativity he possesses. He admits the already known facts & shuns his voice.

2) Learning has become memory test :

We grow mentally when we learn new things. But, the main focus of Indian Education System is memorizing. One who can memorize more is the new learner, here. Instead of exploring, students are constantly prepared for weekly, monthly & yearly tests. And, what's worse? The tests neither check their creativity nor add to their knowledge. All they do is check & encourage their memorizing capability. As a consequence of which, students use their mind less & grow dull & inactive. Thus, these tests are nothing more than wastage of their precious learning time.

3) Marks have become the honour :

Presently, the worth of a student & the honour of a family is determined by the gardes of the student. If a student fails to attain good marks, he's considered a blot on family name & respect. His efforts are considered improper & he mentally pays for the lack of marks by getting depressed. There are competitions & comparisons based on grades achieved. This baseless pressure put on students has resulted in as much as 7000 suicides. Self-worth of students is vanished at such a young age for the lack of marks. Is this enlightenment?

4) Skills & talent are ignored :

Even if a student possess excellent skills in any other field apart from studies, he's made to believe that his skills are unworthy & nothing more than a barrier between him & his studies. He's made to ignore those skills so that only studies continue to be his priority. As a consequence, students tend to act & work more like robots with zero percent interest in doing any other activity. Even after getting employed, tons of students are not euipped with skills required because they were constantly made to ignore skill development process.

5) Discrimation in Subjects & Streams :

Even education couldn't remain untouched by discrimination. Science & Maths are considered subjects of strong & capable minds. Arts & commerce are assumed to be for weak + non-serious students. 12hr study.

5) Poor personality development :

Debating, music, communication skills etc are considered to be a waste of time. Personality development remains ignored amidst the competition of gaining marks. No guidance in this regard is provided & thus even after years of education, students face problems in communication at their workplace. A lot of them tend to be shy, & inexpressive even though they might possess infinite brilliant ideas in their minds. For once, if their ideas were allowed to grow, things would've been smoother for them.

6) Uneven state boards :

There are as many as 28 state boards in India. All of these are uneven in nature & focus on different subjects & areas. Due to this uneven focus, students face problems in certain areas ignored by their respective boards & it becomes diffucult for them to cope up with other students at college level.

7) Outdated knowledge :

Science & Technology has created wonders in all the fields of life. Everything is evolving. Yet the chapters in our textbooks are same as they were 10 or 15 years ago. Neither the wonders of present nor the slightest concepts of them are mentioned. Be it Science or English, the learning is stale. In an evolving world, our knowledge, & our textbooks, our exams & knowledge is static. Topics that serve no purpose in our life are taught & there are exams on those same topics. Nothing new is encouarged or accepted.

8) Employable skills of well-educated students are zero :

While memorizing & grades are made priorities of the students, they fail miserably at office level for they are never taught to express & implement their ideas. They are never encouraged to speak & debate. Even, they're not equipped with proper skills. They're lost even though they own the tag of being educated.
