If you are visiting Pune you should definetely go and visit Shanvivar Vada Fort.

The beautiful fort is crowded by people but has a charm of its own. Peaceful and gives you a sudden unnerving feeling.

It was made by the great Warrior Bajirao Peshwa and is completely made in the Marathi style.

It is a square shaped two floored fort and over looks the huge ground from different perspectives from all around the fort.

It opens a 6am and closes at 5:30pm with a minimum entry fee of rupees 25 with additional charges if you want to do a photo shoot.

The interesting feature of the fort is it has five doors one of which is called the delhi darwaja as it is facing the north. One of the other doors is called Khidhi Dharwaza.

Shanivar wada has an excellent light and sound show with takes place on an interestingly placed stairs also known as the auditorium.

Shanivar wada is a must watch if you find yourself in Pune.
Just so that you know this is the place as in the movie Bajirao Mastani.
Surprise surprise.
