Tourist places in Delhi

Delhi is full of attractive architecture, history, and mixture of various cultures. Out of the many today we are counting the best 15 tourist places to visit in Delhi.

1) Lotus Temple

It is a temple of baha'i religion. The temple consists of 27 marble petals. It consists of 9 doors and a capacity to fit 2500 people inside it. It is open to all religion or qualifications. The architect of this temple is Fariborz Sahba. There might be an entry fee of rupees 30 or maybe not. But during evenings there are a lot of visitors and the que can be a lot long, one might want to visit it since the morning. This is one of the most viewed Architecture place in Delhi. The temple is full of quietude and you can let yourself be swayed by the beauty of the Architecture.

2) Qutub Minar

This is of the best visited tourist place in Delhi. The construction of the minar was started by Qutub-ud-din- Aibak, but was finished by his son in law illtutmish. The architecture was based on the Minaret of Jam in western Afghanistan. It is in Mehrauli area of Delhi. There is also the famous Iron pillar which is famous for its non rustic metal use, in the Qutub complex. There might be a minor entry fee. But the view of the Minar is breathtaking. This is yet another UNESCO World Heritage site. It's open until 7 in the evening.

3) Akshar Dham Mandir

Akshardham Temple is a modern temple of the Hindu deities, and has carved on it musical instruments, god's, symbols etc. It's complex Architecture adds to the beauty of the temple.

4) Red Fort

Redfort is an iconic historical fort. It was the residence of the rulers of Mughal Dynasty for 200 until 1856. As of now the national flag hosting on the independence day takes place there and the prime minister gives a long speech which is broadcasted in the whole country. If you are visiting the place during 15th of August then it is a great time to enjoy the falg hosting too. And if you are not visiting this place during August then also it has a lot to see, the whole fort is very long and would take around three hours to complete the visit. It has various tourist places inside it such as Diwab-e- Amm, Diwan-e- Khaas, Rang Mahal, Mumtaz Mahal, Princess Quarter, Imperial Hamam and a lot more unseen.

5) Humayun's Tomb

It gives a look like Taj Mahal in its outer appearance. The tomb was commissioned by Empress Bega Begam. She was Humayun's first wife and Chief consort. It was the first garden tomb of the Indian subcontinent. This is yet again a UNESCO World Heritage site,it is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, close to Purana Qila. This was the first structure to use red sandstone at such large scale. The visit to the tomb would take atleast three hours, because it is really long and has a lot of art and architecture to be looked at. But most importantly the gardens here are very well maintained. The other monuments inside it include The tomb and mosque of Isa Khan, Bu Halimas tomb and garden and many more.
