Yeah I understand. You’ve been pushing yourself way too hard and every time you go to bed you have this uneasiness that you might be losing a great deal of work time. You’ve been doing all your assignments, helping others, doing a little something towards your goals and you are high on caffeine. Damn! BREATHE!

BREATHE IN. BREATHE OUT. Let your lungs fill and take a break. Don’t worry I am not trying to waste your time, I get it hustlers are never content with their situation, they want more. But you see your regular hustle, your hustle without breaks can leave you fatigued, which will be a problem for your future hustle. Grab some drinks, put on some jazz, dance to the rhythm, read a book, stalk your cru….. Wait don’t do that.

You’ve got your goals in place, and you’re working towards it day by day. You know just like our skin, our mind needs detoxifying as well. They say relax when you are done, not when things are undone. I say that’s BS, all the greatest of all time have worked like crazy towards their goal and that’s true but they also encourage to take breaks so that you can be less tired, and flowing with new ideas when you get back to the task. Leonardo da Vinci took years to complete Mona Lisa, he was a procrastinator, the reason Mona Lisa is so valued because after every break when he came back to his incomplete masterpiece there was something new in his mind, something fresh, a new angled brush stroke to highlight the colours better through physics perhaps.

Before you have even approach your studies, be sure tocreate a schedule and stick to it. Your schedule should include the time you wish to start studying, at what times you plan to take a break and what time you intend to finish. A reasonable break is anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes. Anything longer and you may find yourself falling into the procrastination trap.

Hence I say, thou shall take breaks in order be at your optimum self, so that you can break expectations, may be even your own.

Peace.
