Character Developments Ruined In Game Of Thrones Season 8

As Game Of Thrones came to an end a few days back, fans are devastated by how bad the ending was. From being such devoted fans to being one of those who started hating it during season 8, I still personally think it's one of the greatest shows in TV history.

People are still talking! People will keep on talking how it got worse and everyone has their own opinion. An angry fan has even started a petition (although it has got 1.5 million signatures by other fans) to remake season 8, but we all know this ain't gonna happen.

Now instead of being disappointed, we have to accept the ending. Here are listed the characters whose role and developments were destroyed by the so called 'writers' of the show. So let's begin.

1. TYRION LANNISTER

Tyrion, one of the most intelligent characters got stupider and stupider as we came towards the end of the show.

From giving sarcastic punches, intelligent quotes, this character ended up being a character who didn't know and understand other characters (though he still knows more than Jon, cuz Jon knows nothing) .

His stupidity started in season 7, when he trusted Cersie, because even Sansa knew Cersie lied but not Tyrion (think about it!)

As quoted by Peter Dinklage, the actor who plays Tyrion, he was disappointed that in episode 3, his character was the one to suggest people that they'd be safe in the crypts. He quoted the sentence "So tyrion was smart, but not smart enough! "

Yes Peter, we see the disappointment.

2. JON SNOW

Another fan favourite character, Jon Snow was just like the highest paid extra in season 8. He just had a few dialogues to say and they were "I nevah wunted it", "you are mah Queen" and "fall back". Isn't it?

Yeah, the purpose for which he was brought back from the dead was to kill Daenerys (I agree) but don't you think everything was rushed? Anyone could've killed Dany. Even 'no-one' could kill Dany fulfilling the theory of green eyes.

Moreover, what was the point of keeping his parentage a HUGE secret, when he had to sent back to the Night's Watch (which again has no reason to exist anymore). Maybe, it was just to drive Dany mad, but there were way more reasons which made her a 'Mad Queen'.

And the most disappointing thing, he wasn't Azor Ahai. They kind of 'forgot' about the prophecy, eh?

3. BRANDON STARK

And here comes a person who kept on diverting from what he said. Why? I have the answer, bad writing.

First, GOT took 2-3 seasons to show his story of becoming the three eyed Raven. I understand it was for telling us Jon's parentage. What did he do after telling it? If it not for making Jon the King, what was it for? And I personally expected him to be a major character in the battles of season 8. But he wasn't!

Why was he warged into the crow for so long during the Battle of the dead? Why didn't he warg into anyone in King's landing when everyone was going south against Cersie? Why did he say that he didnt want to be a Lord or anything anymore but in the final episode he said that he came to King's landing for this? I guess the answers died with the show!

4. DAENERYS TARGARYEN

First of all, I expected her to become the Mad Queen, I think it was overshadowed as her vision from season 2 got real. But the worst thing was the lead up to which she had become.

She always had a soft spot for civilians and had always fought for their freedom and well being, but suddenly the show showed us some events which drove her crazy, but they had to give her some time. They should've shown her deterioration after the death of Viserion, Jorah, Rheghal, Melisandre, and also after she lost her claim to the throne.

Emilia Clarke, the actress who played Daenerys says, "When I read the scripts, I was depressed and walked around London in a rain. I am disappointed that now Daenerys will be remembered for the bad things she did. "

5. NIGHT KING

The most controversial character of the show, Night King. The build up of the army of the dead and Night King from season 1 was intense. 'Winter is coming', it's a quote which even the non fans know. What they don't know is that the build up was

'winter is coming'..
'WINTER is coming'...
'WINTER IS COMING'..
'WINTER IS HERE'....
.
...
'Ah well never mind, winter is over, it was a joke hahaha'
Night King was shown to being existing from thousands of years. After such a long time he and his army have woken to bring the long night and to take over Westros. But this extremely powerful character got killed by a teen-age girl (who we don't even know how she got there) so easily.

Well, if you were expecting some answers about the Night King, you can understand the pain.

SPECIAL MENTIONS:

JAIME LANNISTER: One of the most beautiful character developments got ruined when he went to protect his sister/lover in the end.

CERSIE LANNISTER: An evil character who was theorised to kill by so many interesting means, got killed by bricks. And to be honest, the writers made us sad when she (a character which we wanted to see dead) died.

VARYS: A master of whispers was reduced to not even having much dialogues in the final season. Then being sidelined by killing that even the actor who plays him, Conleth Hill was disappointed.
