K.T jong has so rightly said that it is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence and only then we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us!

A quote by Henry Thoreau says that solitude is his best companion, he was an American essayist. It seems that Henry Thoreau did completely love to be alone and so do some. But some others can’t really take this different life choice. Hence I have a question here that why being alone is so much odd according to society.

It is important to know how history is responsible for this odd thinking. The human being is a social animal. History tells us that in ancient times, the world was not a very friendly place to live. There were more forest and more wild animals. Humankind could only survive if they stood by each other. The other was a lack of medical advance. Due to which the human mortality rate was extremely high. Many children in fact would die before their teenage. The greatest age in fact one would reach was 50 and people going above that would be considered lucky. Hence this high mortality rate in fact gave the notion that marrying is very necessary for the survival of humanity to produce more children. Having more children became a lifestyle slowly. As some of them would survive and take the human generation further. Not only local people but even great leaders seem to have such thoughts as Italy ruler Mussolini, Germany ruler Hitler- Nazism, the great and benevolent king Ashoka. They promoted marriages by allowing free trips to grand places. I can completely understand their “stand” on this topic as they were only ensuring the safety of their people. But it’s the 21st century, the most advanced of all, then why if there is no security question as such being alone is still out of the norm. Maybe the conditioning people went through is hampering their understanding on this front. Yet some people don’t like diversity and they want uniformity in people which is impossible. Why it is so difficult to accept that others can have different choices than us? This question has no answer whatsoever we do!

Even some time ago my friend went to a hotel alone to enjoy herself. She is a loner and loves to be alone. She was asked by the waiter if she was waiting for someone. There are some other who like going movie alone, and they are looked upon as odd in their groups. In fact, I will suggest instead of feeling odd to hang out alone, one must try this as it is a completely different sort of experience. You will suddenly as if a new capacity is arising in you.

K.T jong has so rightly said that it is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence and only then we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us, as it stands there on the doorsteps of our hearts. I think humanity should understand that being alone can be the most lovely thing to do in once life time and if not you at least to some.
