"So no one told you life was gonna be this way" (clap, clap, clap, clap) this soundtrack was synonymous with the sound of happiness for many people in the early 90s. On September 22nd 1994 the most beloved and popular sitcom of all times F.R.I.E.N.D.S was aired on TV. Who would have thought it then that a comedy show set in the backdrop of 90s would continue to make people laugh even in the twenties?
As the name of the show suggests the story revolved around six friends Ross,Rachel,Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Joey and their daily life struggle which puts them in hilarious circumstances. Whether it was Ross's love for dinosaurs or Monica's obsession with cleanliness, or Joey's dumb yet adorable attitude ,we still can't get enough of the show. It managed to make a special place in the heart of everyone who watched it.
The actors of the show gained huge popularity from the show and are known by the name of their characters even today. Among the starcast Jennifer Aniston became most successful. She played the character of Rachel Karen Greene who gave major fashion goals to every young woman in the nineties. Not to forget the iconic Rachel Greene haircut which was on the top of every salon's catalogue once. Apart from the characters the show has many other highlights like the cafe Central Perk where the entire gang would hangout. The shiny brown couch that appeared in every episode of the show is the official F.R.I.E.N.D.S icon.
One of the reasons why the show is still popular among youngsters is that the characters are very relatable. Some of us might be as zany as Phoebe or a control- freak like Monica, but we all could relate to them. The show's popularity can be witnessed by the fact that it had total ten seasons. And it seems like people are not yet ready to get over their favorite show. It is amazing to know that more than a two decades old show is in huge demand today
Last episode of the show
Mathew Perry, the actor who played the character of Chandler Bing was once asked in an interview that what would he do if he could go back in time, to which he replied that he wouldn't have ever let the show end. The recent announcement by Netflix that it will stream the super hit comedy show F.R.I.E.N.D.S and the fact that it is already available on Hotstar somehow fulfils Perry's unfulfilled wish.
Seeing all this we could say that the show still goes on (literally)
