India is known for its temples as much as it is known for the cultural diversity. Hindu temple are the most sacred place for a Hindu, these temples can be found very easily in different parts of the nation and you dare not contaminate the place by your thoughts, words or actions. In Hindu traditions visiting a temple and donating in the temple is very common. But my question today is, "do temples really need your money?" There is a list of temples who comes in the richest category & it is truly said that of they distribute their money & gold all they have, no one in India will be below powerty line. Then what is the reason of keeping this money up to the temple?

Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram The wealth of this temple will amaze you this Temple is not only the richest temple of India but the richest temple of the world. Many of these temples runs under a trust & all the money donated is kept under the trust. Donation box in the temple is very smartly placed in a place where it can be visible very easily.

In the list of richest Temples a name comes if temple of Shirdi. Irony here is that people are donating to a temple where the god sitting had lived a life of poor & he had nothing to do with the money. Beautiful interior is being made by the trust of the gold being donated & now the scenario is where you see you will find gold in the temple.

The picture shows it all how even the Bollywood celebrities are into donation in the temple. It's good to donate money, but why can't it be done in a right place. I do not mean that donating in temple is wrong but not using that money for the social cause by the trust is wrong. The same money can be given to a child to study or a sick person suffering from a Sevier disease & not having adequate amount for treatment can be helped. It's time to wake up and decide that, who requires it more the trust or human?
