“Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bicycle ride” – John F. Kennedy

Don’t you agree?

You may have many childhood memories associated with your bicycle – your first fall, bicycle race with your bicycle-friends, stalking your first crush, riding fast after stealing and many more memories.

It might have been your dearest childhood possession and why not!

But have you ever wondered, “What was the secret of your healthy, active and happy childhood?”

Yes, you guessed it right!

Cycling, being a fun-filled activity, was the favourite pastime of children and a secret ingredient of their healthy, active and happy childhood. With the advancements in technology, this favourite pastime is replaced with gadgets, video games and watching cartoons. This has led to obesity and childhood diabetes.

So it’s time for us to vacant our seats and go cycling.

Have you ever wondered, “Why dogs stick their head out of a moving car?”

It’s simple- just to get some fresh air.

Cycling gives you an opportunity to get some fresh air.

Are you looking out to shed some extra calories without sweating?

If yes, then get yourself a bicycle instead of a treadmill. Cycling makes your exercising fun and sociable. It will brighten up your mood, which will in turn make you feel happy. It will increase your heart rate and is a great cardiovascular exercise to burn fat. It will tone your body and strengthen your muscles. Moreover, it’s pocket-friendly.

An hour of cycling burns up to 600 calories. Sounds good?

So, if you’re more desperate to feel more energized, happy like a kid and look better; get your hands on a bicycle to experience the change!

“Riding bicycles will not only benefit the individual doing it, but the world at large” – Udo E. Simonis

Yes, that’s true!

Riding bicycles will reduce pollution of air, water, sound and land. It will eliminate the harmful exhaust emissions that are released into the air whenever an engine starts. It will reduce global warming. It saves our time and curbs traffic issues. Not only does this improve the atmosphere for us, but also for other living creatures on this planet.

Don’t be surprised to know that some of the places in the world have imposed a ban on motor vehicles!

Venice of Italy is the largest urban car-free area in Europe.

Mackinac Island in Michigan has been following the ban on motor vehicles since 1898 till date. The roads in the island are filled with horse-drawn carriages along with bicycles.

Obviously, going cycling is a great way to go green.

Don’t wait for the change, be the change!

Celebrate the world bicycle day by, “Saying no to Co2 (carbon dioxide) and saying yes to C2O (cycling to office)”.

GO GREEN, GO CYCLING
