Bad luck, tragedy and casualties can happen to anyone, at any place and any time. Some of them can be forgotten, some cannot be. But, either way, they leave behind Scars.

Scars that would torment and remind us for life. Scars that can either make you weak or give you the strength to fight. Scars that change you as a person. It's just a choice that you need to make.

✿✿✿

We're all scarred for reasons,
Known, yet unknown, hidden, untold, unheard.
But, that night has scared us the worst,
Attacked by a bunch of human viruses,
Our foundations were shaken.
Bullets flying like butterflies,
In beautiful gardens adorned with smiles
Piercing not just the bodies, but the souls,
Blood splurged like water in the heart of the city.
Engulfing the city centre in vibrant red flames,
Shattering families, forever.
Nightmare, it wasn't.
T'was real, it happened.
To us, to the innocents,
It wasn't in name of religion, it never would be,
A blow to humanity, A blow to mankind.
Yes, We're scarred.
A decade has passed, a few more will pass
But bitter memory prevails,
It never heals, it just stays.
The memorial marks the bravery and valour,
Of the lion hearts who fought fiercely,
Of the civilians who took the lead,
It's a permanent reel, embedded in souls
Of the survivors and mere helpless spectators.
We saw martyrs, We saw blood around,
We saw shots fired, We saw bombs exploded,
Yes, We're scarred, forever.
But, we stand united, We stand strong,
We stand firm, We stand fearless.
It's fight against the fright,
You can shake us but not break us.
This a tribute not to the martyrs,
Nor to the victims, neither to the survivors
It's a tribute to our endless strength,
To our vigilant courage,
To our unity.
No matter, who we are or from where we come,
We're Indian, it's all that matters.
Yes! We're scarred.
26/11, won't be forgotten.
It'll be remembered coz we fought back,
We fought back together & won.
This Inferno is everlasting.
And thus the scars are our Victory.

India still bears one such scar, wounds have healed but the pain still lingers. More than a decade now but the grudge still prevails.

We engage in the endless fight, day in and day out. With our parents, family, friends, acquaintances or even strangers. Fights that hardly have meaning, fights that can be easily prevented but alas we lose our temper and end up upsetting people we love.

At this moment, one should take a second to look back at those scars. We've scars for we survived. Fate was in our favour and worst could have happened. Take a moment to be grateful for you still have your loved ones to fight with. All we need is a pinch of realisation and acknowledgement.

Humanity has always been in perils because humans sometimes lose their cool over things they shouldn't.

We can't help everyone, But everyone can definitely help someone.

In this fight against all the unsocial evils and practices, let's not forget our scars and take a step in the fight for humanity. Together we can achieve more for unity is a more powerful weapon than anything else the world has seen.

P. S. This piece is a tribute to all the families, survivors and people who had to go through the attacks.
10 years after the pain isn't lessened but we definitely did grow stronger.
