On 2nd June 2014 Telangana has officially been made as a separate state and added as a 29th state with Hyderabad as a Capital. On the centre-south stretch of the Indian Peninsula on the high Deccan Plateau it is situated. In India the Telangana state is the twelfth(12) largest state and the twelfth(12) most populated state as per 2011 census. The state of Telangana is divided into 33 districts as of 2019. To promote Telangana State Government Tourism there is an agency named Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) in Telangana. The tourist attractions in Telangana include historical places, monuments, forts, waterfalls, forests and temples.

MONUMENTS :-

Charminar :- The 5th ruler of the Qutb Shahi Dynasty, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, built the Charminar (Four Minarets) in 1591, is a monument and mosque located in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Golconda Fort :- Golkonda was originally known as Mankal. Golkonda also known as Golconda (Round shaped hill) or Golla konda (shepherd’s hill). It is a citadel and fort located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was built by the Kakatiyas for the western defense and that region is famous for mines which produced some of the world’s most famous gems, they are Koh-i-Noor, the Hope Diamond, Nassak Diamond and the Noor-ul-Ain.

Qutb Shahi Tombs :- Qutb Shahi Tombs is a home to various tombs dedicated to Rulers of Qutub Shahi Dynasty, located near Golconda Fort.

Kakatiya Kala Thoranam :- Warangal Gate is the other name of Kakatiya Kala Thoranam. During the rule of Kakatiya Dynasty around 12th century the arch was built. Warangal Gate is included in the tentative list of the United Nations Educational, Social, Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) World Heritage Site.

Bhongir Fort :- Bhongir Fort was built in the year 1076 on an isolated monolithic rock by the Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI and so the fort is named as Tribhuvanagiri and later it was called as Bhuvanagiri.

Paigah Tombs :- Paigah Tombs also known as Maqhbara Shams al – Umara are the tombs belonging to the nobility of Paigah Family. The tombs are known for wonders of Hyderabad state for their architectural excellence.

However Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has officially recognised eight monuments of national importance. They are :-

3. Pre – historic site
4. Ancient Mound
5. Alampur Temple
6. Thousand Pillar Temple, Ramappa Temple
7. Warangal Fort
8. Pillalamari Temple
