India is a big country full of spice in life and cuisine. From it’s gorgeous landmarks like the famed Taj Mahal to its regions of uniquely spiced dishes, India is an incredible place. Indian food is feast for the taste buds. The variety of food you can find in India is countless. The Indian cuisine is as diverse as India itself . The richness of the history and varied landscape tend to shine through in the dishes here. Every region has something different to bring to the table.
While writing this article I was in a great confusion, and the confusion was about how to give numbering to the food items. Because for me food is not just a thing to fill one's tummy but food is something which makes a place in your heart ,tummy ,life and everywere...

Birayani -Birayani takes many forms and can be vegetable biryani or non-vegetarian. Either way, it is a dish you must give a shot. It is a rice preparation served with raita . Its is something which makes you hungry by its unique look and fills one's stomach by its delicious smell.
2.Kulfi-Kulfi is just Indian ice cream. But it’s not like our ice cream. Sweetened flavored milk is stirred for a long time over an open flame which causes the sugar in it to caramelize. This process lends it an amazingly special fragrance and taste.

3. Chaat-The king of all dishes! They are mostly had as starters or evening snack. Chaat is not the name of one dish but include a variety of other dishes mainly pani puri, sev puri, pav baaji, to name a few. Tamarind, chilli powder, curds, onions, tomatoes and sev (vermicelli) are the key ingredients that go into most of these chaats famously known as street food.

4. Chole bature- Chole batura can either be your breakfast, lunch, evening snack or dinner. Yes, you read it right. That is the beauty of this dish. Though it is a heavy meal, Indians do not hesitate to relish the flavours of chole batura any time of the day. Baturas are deep fried round Indian breads made of white flour. Chole is the side dish prepared with chick peas.

5. Samosas- This is one of the favourite snacks of every Indian! It is a deep fried snack prepared by rolling the dough of white flour and then filling it with the mixture made of potatoes, green peas, garam masala, onions, chilli powder, fennel and salt. You’ll love it.

6. Kababs - Is there anything more glorious than meat on a stick? Not really. It seems every country has some sort of kebab. In India, they are made with cubes of meat and vegetables like tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Sometimes, cheese is added too. These are incredible and shouldn’t be missed

7. Masala Dosa -It is form of thin pan cake prepared with the batter which is fermented over night. The batter is made of rice and white lentil (something called the udad dal). It is severed with potatoes, chutney and sambar.

8. Dahi vara-And now for something totally addictive. These lentil dumplings get dipped into yogurt. Then they’re topped off with a savory, spicy chutney of tamarind. They are usually served as a side dish at formal dinners though you’ll find them as appetizers in plenty of other places to.

9. Panipuri- This small round bread is bite-sized, perfect to pop right into the mouth. It’s crisp and filled with potatoes, onions and chickpeas along with tamarind paste and spiced water. You’ll see it all over the country under different names. One really popular and pleasantly surprising variation on this food is to substitute whiskey or rum for the spiced water. You should deliberately seek these out with the alcoholic modifications made for they are beyond amazing.

10. Paav Bhaji -This spicy food is a quick bite you can nab on any corner in India. This yummy buttered bread comes with a thick, rich vegetable curry with the most aromatic mixture of spices. It’s served with chopped onion and for good measure, a slice of lemon. You may rethink your Western breakfast ways when you get a bite of this.
