How We Can Define Fear

how We can define fear? If you are certainly looking for traditional definition Fear is the unpleasant feeling you have when you think that you are in danger according to google. We know that already right. Here we will go deep in this fear thing.

I am going to tell a story its somewhat related to a movie Mountain between us movie.What happen is passengers are riding on a private airplane and due to some technical reasons plane gets crushed and only 4 out of 12 passengers are live. They are 2000 miles from home and 1000 miles from nearest town. They have left only with rudimentary navigation equipments and limited supply of food and water. They don’t have the range of their mobile phones. They don’t know what could go wrong , no one is coming for them. So most of us never experienced this situation before which this person found in themselves. But we all know what it likes to be afraid or how does fear feel, but I am pretty sure no one thought what it exactly means.

As we grow up we treat fear as weakness or something danger so that we have to tell ourself don’t worry or don’t panic. The other meaning of fear is an amazing act of imagination. Now you may think no its not like that, but don’t worry, I have an example of our childhood. In our childhood we have our imaginations like monster hiding under bed like that. This is just a vivid act of imaginations. We left this all behind and grow up.

Now get back to the story again. Our 4 passengers are stuck in the mountain. If they want to survive, they left with 2 options.To go 2000 miles back to their places which leads them to climb 2 mountains to do so. Second one is to cover the 1000 miles of walking through the forest,but in that process they may become dinner of animals. So these kind of fears we call them stories. So due to the stories they heard of animals they choose to go back to 2000 miles. Due to this the only survivor left when they reach their place. It's kind of unintentional storytelling. The story and fear have same components. The story has a characters so does fear. In our fears characters are us. To fear, just like fiction stories one thing leads to another. This is one definition of how we can define fear.

Some fears can be classified as suspense like what if I haven’t submitted assignment tomorrow or what if I fail in the exam. In this kind of fear we don’t know what possibly right and what's possible wrong. This is another answer of how can we define fear.

So to sum up, fear is not only a dangerous situation, but also our vivid imagination, weakness and also storyline we created.
