Can you imagine the rest of your life foregoing meat, egg, milk, or more importantly, your mother’s mouth-watering “shahi paneer”? That is the kind of determination that the term vegan brings with itself. As the highest evolved species with opposable thumbs, we can consciously differentiate between wants and the needs, which poses a moral dilemma. While one school of thought promotes morality (turning vegan for the greater good) the other gives preference to satisfying one’s primal instincts. This essay aims to break down this battle of veganism and non-vegetarianism.
