There were times when we used to go to museums, not just during a summer vacation, but all the time. Museums have this magnetic hold over one’s mind, captivating them with its splendor and facts. But now, with the era of people not visiting museums more often, it’s becoming to turn more into a house of relics collecting dust.

Museums are usually big powerhouses that store information and artifacts connected to the country’s past and its culture. A museum, with all its facts and proofs could tell us about a country’s uprisings and development through the passage of time.

It takes us through the course of history, starting from the mankind’s existence to the hidden tombs, with mysterious hieroglyphic writings of ancient Egypt. So when a place like this seems to provide us everything that we need to know about, giving a chance to explore history, why did people stop visiting museums ever so often?

The museums of these times are mostly visited by students, tourists, guides and others of the related field. You rarely see a doctor or an IT worker visiting a museum, unless it’s a vacation. Their professions are time consuming, which gives them very little time left to do things for their own. They’re really exhausted with their daily hustle, making it even harder to push themselves for entertainment or a hobby.

Since we live in a digital world, everyone is glued to their devices, eagerly scrolling through the internet for gossip and snippets of the latest news updates, turning into a bunch of couch potatoes. The social media, like Instagram and Facebook are trendy major grounds for posting the most interesting stuff; it could also be some of the exhibits showcased by the museums. This would lead to the loss of curiosity for visiting them.

These warehouses of relics haven’t actually got much of an outreach to a wider range of audience, but they are getting better with time and use of the modern technology in an efficient way.

There’s also the reason of lacking any interest. If you had a choice to go to a museum or a movie theatre, which one would you choose? The movie theatre being the more obvious choice. It may sound good to the ears, spending three hours of your time, crammed in a seat watching a movie with all that plot-twisting, jaw dropping, nail biting scenes. Does a museum make ever make feel all that, you might wonder?

A museum could provide you with a lifetime of knowledge and experience, only if keep your heart fluttering open to new stuff. It gives you a real life experience of how the world had been and how it could be. Museums are not only places for acquiring knowledge; they also provide spaces for social interaction, make new acquaintances and leisure.

A museum is considered not only to be institutions of artistic, cultural or historical importance, but also the heart of the nation, with its embers still fighting through time and tide, to take a stance for eternity.
