1- NARENDRA MODI-

Narendra Damodardas Modi popularly known as Narendra Modi is the current PM of our India, the world's largest democracy. He started his life as a common man but through his hard work and patriotism, he managed to get success in every step of life. During his childhood, he used to sell tea in railway platforms and earn money for his family expenses. Very few of us know that Modiji used to take tea and snacks for the soldiers during India- Pakistan and India-China war. He joined RSS at the age of 8 and thus entered into the mainstream of politics as a BJP worker. His party won the Gujarat Assembly Election in 1995 but due to some circumstances he was not able to become the Chief Minister of Gujarat. But later, he was appointed as the CM of Gujarat on 7th October 2001. During his service period, he was blamed for the Godhra Train burning. The Godhra train incident took place on 27 February 2002 in which 59 people died in a fire explosion inside the Sabarmati Express train. In December 2010, the High court proved Modi innocent as there was no evidence against him. He became Gujarat’s longest- serving Chief Minister by becoming the 4th time CM of Gujarat. Keeping his success in mind, he was selected for the election of the Prime Minister and thus he became the 15th Prime Minister of India. Recently, Narendra Modi was featured with Bear Grylls in one of the episodes of “Man Vs Wild” where he shared his life story and also encouraged the young generation to save nature and natural habitats.
2- SACHIN TENDULKAR-

Cricket is the most desired sport in India. The craze of cricket among Indians can’t be explained in words. Just like cricket, the players are also highly popular all over the world. When we first hear the word cricket, the first name that comes into mind is the god of cricket “Sachin Tendulkar”. His family includes his mother Rajni Tendulkar and father sourcelate Ramesh Tendulkar, wife and 2 children. During his cricket career, he has topped the list of century makers as well as the maximum run scorer in the ODI. He is also the part of an IPL team named “Mumbai Indians” that have won four titles. Also, Sachin Tendulkar is the recipient of Padma Vibhushan, Rajiv Gandhi award, Padma Shri and Arjuna Award. Rabindranath Tagore, the 1st ever Indian to win the Nobel Prize was a famous writer, social worker and a poet. His contribution towards Indian Literature is enormous. He was conferred with the Nobel Prize in 1913 for his poem “Gitanjali”. He is also known as ‘‘Vishwa Kavi”. He had also contributed his life as a freedom fighter. He has written many poems and novels such as ‘Raja Rani’, ‘Kabuli Wallah’, ‘Sonar Tari’, ‘Puravi’ etc. Apart from all these, he is the writer of “Jana Gana Mana”, the national anthem of India. Sadly, he died on 7th August 1941 due to a kidney infection.
4- MUKESH AMBANI-

He belonged to a caste which is considered as untouchables. Ambedkar and his party fought for the rights of Dalits and were able to remove the discrimination.As the head of the drafting committee, he was given the responsibility to write the Indian constitution during 1947. Ambedkar also introduced reservation system so as to maintain a balance amongst the classes.
6- AMITABH BACCHAN-

Amitabh Bacchan is universally known as “Don” of Bollywood Industry. The well known actor actor is the son of Harivansh Rai Bacchan and Teji Bacchan and born on 11 October 1942. He started his career as an actor in the early 1970s and was dubbed as “angry young man” for his roles in the movies like ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Sholay’. Sholay movie was the most successful and hit movie of his career. His father, Harivansh Bacchan was a great poet. His wife Jaya Bacchan, son Abhishek Bacchan and daughter-in-law Aishwariya Rai are also great actors. 7- A P J ABDUL KALAM-

Died- 27 July, 2015, Shillong
He is widely known as aerospace scientist. He had also served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam played a vital role in developing India’s space technology and earned himself the nickname “Missile Man”. Dr. Kalam was also one of the recipients of Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and Bharat Ratna in 2007. Keeping his political career aside, he was also famous for his books and love for children. He wrote “Wings of Fire” in which he shared his life story. Abdul Kalam has always been an inspiration for everyone. His thoughts and quotes always gives motivation to fulfill our dreams. Sadly, he died on 27 July 2015 due to cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at IIM, Shilong. His sudden demise led to a shock amongst all.
