Do The Taste Buds Of A Foodie Need Rest?

"You have got one life. Eat as much as you can."
Neither words of wisdom nor a famous quote.
"Grab a bite of it the moment it jumps from that pan!"
Fill your life with delicacies and street foods,
Start from your stomach uptil the throat.

These aren't the words of any gourmet or a chef-cum-philosopher. These are my own words. Yes! You would hear me saying this at my home whenever my mother or my aunt would cook tremendous food. I mean, we all need food. But I believe we all live because there is a lot of new good food out there. Someone has actually put some real effort in bringing out a new taste(or maybe a few spices were missed or added by mistake). I believe every country can be distinguished by the food their people love. No matter if I am an Indian and I like Persian bakes. No matter if you are German and you like Sri Lankan Kukul Mas Curry. Afterall, we all are humans, countries divide us, but taste buds unite us.

You would often hear people say " I am a vegetarian. Will it be easy for me to get food in the States?"

Sir, you aren't the only vegetarian on this planet! And thanks to keto, gluten-free and vegan diets. There was a time when Indians used to carry khakraas with them, in case they don't find vegetarian food overseas. With Subway, KFC, Mc Donald's and other fast food outlets coming up, vegetarians can easily get veg food outside India too.

But seriously? How can you ditch Tomatokeftedes (Santorini Tomato Fritters) for a monochromatic 2-minute noodle, that too when you are in the land of the Greek Gods! Foodies are probably members of that one big family sent to this globe by God himself. The sole purpose of this family was to unite other human beings over food. Had you not seen an Instagram page that had shared the picture of that drool-worthy Bruschetta, you would have never taste such a delcacy. Nor you would have ever said Mamma Mia! Nor you would have ever tasted the infamous Shawarma straight outta Turkey. A big thanks to these children of the Almighty, people now know tastes of the world.

But one thing - Don't their taste buds get tired? I mean so many tastes, some which are sweet, some which are excrutiatingly spicy, some which might probably outsalt any iodine, while some just TASTELESS! We might find it funny, but a surreal thing has already happened to taste buds. Hayleigh Curtis, a Chocolate scientist in Birmingham, got her taste buds insured in 2016. Insurance amount is a whooping £1m. Her taste buds aren't tiring out anytime soon!

Well, Food-chain is now no more that "Human>Animal>Plant>Sunlight". Food-chain now means "Food is the chain that would bind the country together" Indians are not having good relations with Pakistan. But somewhere in Canada, a Canadian of Indian descent is eating the food made by an American of Pakistani descent. This is the love for food! Getting Japanese food here in Delhi and Australians getting the taste of India in Sydney, another link of the food-chain.

Afterall, Orson Welles, an American actor and a writer, once said

Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.
