"Rolling sound? Lights, Camera and... Action!"
Followed by filming a script with no history.
Creative teams scratched their heads,
Producers found fresh ideas obligitory.
Then's lives became scripts for today,
"Title of this film? - Biopics and Documentary."
Story of a warrior, or a tale of forgotten love,
Spiced up with colours, garnished with contemporary.

Art and culture have been vital ingredients of human life. In a way, they are like that sprinkle of paprika, without which, our lives would be nothing but mundane. Art, as people misconceive at times, is more than just a set of brushes and a palette of paints. Art is a galaxy in itself. A black hole that leads to the darkest hues of peace, turns you into a beautiful component of that painting that your forefathers had created. Dance, music, literature and cinema also come in the same picture as paints do; in the tribe we call Art. Speaking of Cinema, it has evolved over the decades, as per the tastebuds of the masses. Speaking of today's scene, Biopics and Documentaries are the new 'Romcoms and Dramas'.

Their lives: yesterday an inspiration; a perfect script for today.

Biopics, short for Biographical films, are trending today. Not only new story( quite an irony!), but these biopics make us familiar with things that our ancestors achieved, but their successors failed to convey to us. Biopics highlight the lives of a particular person. Seeing today's trend, the faded gems are being brought to the furnace of limelight. Call it our love for our history, or may be our penance, this way we give these writers the credit of their original story. Also, no biopic has failed to deliver at the box office!

This being a key reason, all the A-listed actors and actresses have atleast one biopic in their cart.

Documentary, on the other hand, is biopic of an event. Certain events, that created an impact back then, prove to be a great source of learning today, and ofcourse an even better script. Often considered as a tough form of cinema, documentaries are almost always serious. Be it a terrorist attack, or any politcal stratergy recoil. These films sometimes fail to deliver at the box office, but do what they did earlier - Create an impact.

The first ever biopic made was The Story Of The Kelly Gang, in 1906. Based on Ned Kelly, a convicted police murderer. Frank Mills donned this role. How can we forget Ben Kingsley as Mahatma Gandhi in the 1982 film Gandhi. Critics call this as Ben's career changing film, bringing him acclamation and eminence.

Known as the famous Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp rose to fame with Ed Wood. Depp portrayed Wood, an American filmmaker, actor and author.

Bollywood was not too far. In 1913, the legendary Dadasaheb Phalke produced Raja Harishchandra, also the first movie made in Bollywood.Dattatraya Damodar Dabke played the lead role. Though a silent film, it marked the birth of Bollywood.

Coming to today, various biopics have earned tonnes of crores. Be it M.S.Dhoni, Mary Kom, Paan Singh Tomar, Neerja, Jodha Akbar and the dhaakad Dangal. Audience today crave period based biopics. Speaking of Mary Kom, it proved to be a dose of recognition for the Indian boxer MC Mary Kom, who, despite of being medaled many times, didn't get much of India's appreciation. Paan Singh Tomar, based on the Indian athlete, soldier and later a rebel. Some biopics are especially made to reveal certain hidden facts. Sanjay Dutt's biopic Sanju let people know about the charges he had faced. The Accidental Prime Minister, based on ex-Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, gave us a glimpse of the ingoing polititcal activities during his tenure.

Biopics are like those bullets which when fusilladed, will hit the big bags of money. Apart from big box office collections, these movies are liked by all sorts of audience.

We are looking forward to biopics like PM Narendra Modi, Thackrey, Chhapaak, Saina, Super 30 and many more. Afterall, we are getting bored of the usual romcoms, sci-fi, family dramas and thrillers.

A way of tribute to the unsung heroes; an plot made into new story.
