It generally started with porn but now the same has been extended to attack political and powerful figures also. Manipulation has become a popular as a disastrous phenomenon. People in this age of internet cannot just avoid to stay out of it. It might have a motive of revenge or popularity or madness. It has become like a disease that's hard to kill because it is mostly mental. The biggest effect of deepfake is that a content cannot be detected whether it is true or fake. This problem can probably be solved by trust in information and journalism. The pitfall of the problem is that noone would be able to judge whether the statement is true or false.

People are still creating deepfake videos in order to create tutorials to teach people. Now every coin has its two sides. It is basically upto the technocrats and the users how to use such apps. If these apps are used for education purpose or fun without affeting any individual, religious beliefs or news, then, I think that is okay. But, if such apps would be used for defaming purpose or revnge, then that is a serious mental issue of the population or we can simply say that democracy is at stake. Because, noone is safe even at their homes in such a case.
