With their cheerful smile and shiny eyes, kids bring an unexpected joy to everyone. These tiny tots have hope lurking in their glittery eyes and that's why only, they are considered bright future of any country. But when their little hands carry heavy loads instead of books, the dream of a pleasant future suddenly tumbles down.

This is a harsh reality many children across the globe face. Unfortunately our country India is home to the largest number of child labourers in the world. We can mostly see them working in the fields and at construction sites. They get work in industries to support their family's financial condition. Here they are beaten up and subjected to hard labour that totally destroys their physical strength and enthusiasm. A case was reported where owner of a bindi factory beat up a child brutally to his death for spreading a chemical by mistake while handling it. Many children are also seen working in the households. They are seen washing utensils and serving food in an age when they should be holding books and toys.

All they get in return of their work is cruelty. Rags in the name of clothes, left over in the name of food, scoldings in the name of happiness and tough exertion in the name of dreams; all this becomes life of a young soul who became a prey of this crime in his/her salad days. Children are expected to enjoy and play various games. But due to child labour, their entire life becomes a game instead. Any kid forced into this unlawful act is surely tortured in some or the other form; either physically, mentally or sexually. These olive branches who were once seen sitting on their parents' shoulders are now seen shouldering responsibilities.

Childhood is the happiest period of one's life, springtime of one's life. Child labour interferes with their development process and makes them lack energy and zeal for life. This illegal activity needs to be put to an end to let them live their golden days to their fullest.
