• The whole series was filmed in front of a live audience

The whole shooting took place with around 300 fans around which was a real time test for the script and the actors and gave an idea whether the jokes and punch lines worked or not. • FRIENDS was not supposed to be FRIENDS

When the script was being written the writers of the show experimented with names such as ‘’Friends Like Us’’, ‘’Six of One’’, ‘’Across the Hall’’ and ‘’Insomnia Café'’. It was later decided to name it as ‘’F.R.I.E.N.D.S’’ which highlighted the six friends and their bond in the series.

The addition of Phoebe having her brother’s babies was done to the script when Phoebe announced her real life pregnancy. The whole shooting of the scenes where she is shown pregnant is done when she was actually pregnant in real life.
