Right from the Treta Yuga to our current generation low-caste people are made to work as labours and treat them badly. They are supposed to serve the upper castes like Brahmin and Kshatriyas. They are abandoned from gaining education. They should live in slum areas. Their decisions will be finalised only by the upper caste people. They are capable of pulling cart but not questioning to upper caste people. Why today it is seen that on funerals Brahmins are satisfied by providing heavy meal, vegetables and lot more? Just for the sake that the deceased soul may rest in peace. Only Brahmins are capable of doing this work and for doing this work they demand a lot from that family which is not fair. I'm not saying that every Brahmins practise this but yes many Brahmins does.
WHY?? Who started this division on humanity? Surely God didn't because when Lord Brahma created this earth he never assigned specific people to carry out specific work. WHY should a person be ashamed on his birth? One does not have a control over his birth. In Vedas and Shastras it is written that a person's success and superiority is measured by his intelligence and his skills. A person's birth is not important. If something is important that is his/her works and deeds. Action speaks louder than words and it is the best way of representing a person's identity. This should be the thinking process.
In today's world when someone needs blood in order to survive do they ask to the donor that is the blood of low caste or not? Obviously not. But in other cases they exploit lower caste people and it is most practised in rural areas. Reservation has given lower caste people a ease in admission for educational institutions and government jobs. That's why general category people hate them and the system. They consider the Reservation system as corruption. But it is actually secularism providing rights to low caste people to study and find good job so that they can sustain their family. But somehow it was implemented wrong and there are many complex issues regarding this.
